Jamie's MAP page (the Austria team fund raising letter for 2006) the fundraising letter has been provided for you here: 1125 E 8th St Suite #159 York, NE 68467 (402) 363-5871
To the church body:
I hope that this letter finds you well. This is the third letter that I have written because of the poor response to the first two letters. Before I talk about how my fundraising is coming, I would like to let you know a little about my mission.
First, here are a few specific details of my mission. I am planning to go to Austria with Jaci Coehoorn, who is also a student at York College. Our mission there will be six weeks long. For the first two weeks, we will be in Vienna working with the church and meeting with some of the refugees and children in the area. For the last four weeks of our stay, we will be assisting at children’s/teen Bible camp not far from Vienna. Most of the children will be the same that we will have worked with in the city. Both Jaci and I have read letters from the missionary who we will be helping, Reggie Hiller. She has been in Austria for several years and has had several students go to help her establish missions there. She has even written about her anticipation if my group will be able to be sent over. The program we will be working through is MAP, designed to match students with missionaries. We have been training two times a week for about six months now, focusing on basic training in the Bible, cultural studies, as well as ESL (teaching English as a second language using Scripture).
So far our fundraising is going well. We have been keeping an anxious look at the books, and met the first deadline of $1300 by April 1st on time. Currently, I have about $1800 and Jaci $1500. This was just the first deadline before the final goal of $2200 each. This deadline was dropped from $2500 because of luck in getting cheaper plane tickets. Just as a reminder, we do only have about a month left to fundraise and this last month is usually the most difficult. We are getting near the end of the fundraising deadlines and look forward to helping out in Austria.
I am very worried about our fundraising and that is why I am calling for your help. We have not yet received much of a response from the previous letters sent out. We are hoping to hear whether or not you would consider donating. Realizing if you plan to support us financially or are unable to help financially would help us to focus our fundraising more efficiently. We want to thank all of you who are keeping our mission in prayer. We greatly appreciate all the prayer support that we have already received and pray that whatever the Lord may send us to do; we do so in His will. All funds should be sent to the East Hill church: East Hill church of Christ / 1125 E. 10th St. / York, NE 68467.
May God bless and keep you,
Jamie High Jaci Coehoorn |
